Why a blog?

Ok, i decided to start a blog based on my pals and my own SWTOR adventures. Why? because SWTOR proved to be one of the best role playing games i've ever played. Once again Bioware teached how to make a good game, and i want to explain why i think this.
I have a long record of mmo playing and i have to say i never felt the excitement that this games produces on me when I'm playing it. I've played: Argentum Online, Mu continent of legend, Lineage, Lineage 2, World of Warcraft, Aion, Granado Espada, Rappeltz, Lord of the Rings online, Archlord, Rift, EvE online, Global Agenda, Age of conan, etc, etc, etc.
I've been playing the game for around a month now, just 3-4 hours a day (i wish i could spend more time with it but obligations are first), and roled a couple of characters, never got past lvl 35 and currently playing with my Sith Assassin. So, lets get to it, the things i like/love about the game and the things i do not like/hate.

Things i love:
  1. Story driven RPG: if there is something Bioware can do is to write awesome storys for their games and this one is pretty cool. With the experience they have on the matter, there is no doubt at this point they can make an amazing story out of anything you put in front of them.
  2. Amazing detail everywhere you go: the enviroments are just breath taking, i loved the Balmorra's landscapes, the Korriban's desert like caverns and so on. There is not a place you can go that won't, at least, call for your attention.
  3. Fast paced rpg combat. This game achieved something a lot of others tried, to get an assault based combat that is not as boring as watching a snails race.
  4. A lot of skills to enjoy!
  5. You can enjoy not only your storyline but the one of your partners, thats one of the things i love the most of this game, the huge amounts of lore also.
  6. The game shows a more adult Star Wars.
  7. No grinding. Awesome!

Things i do not like:

  1. The lack of variety in the storylines. I would love to see the storyline of a character changes with his/her specialization.
  2. Players decisions are not very influential in their storyline. I would like to see the storyline of my character to take a violent turn acording with a very difficult decision.
  3. PVP is quite unbalanced right now, but that can be fixed.
  4. Ship customization is completely absent. Bioware told us there is going to be a solution to this in a future version.
  5. The game is too expensive to buy. The first payment for playing the game is really heavy and cause new players to think it twice before jumping in. Lowering the price a little bit would get new players faster.
Well that's all for now, I will keep updating the blog as frecuently i can. Hope you enjoy your SWTOR saga as much as I'm doing. Hope to see you all inside the game.
